Homemade Beef Burgers Recipe

Aussies love a good homemade beef burger and it’s really simple to make. And the beauty of making them yourself is that you know exactly what goes in them and you can add whatever toppings you want!

Summer is the perfect time to fire up the BBQ and serve your very own homemade beef burgers whether you are cooking for your family or entertaining your friends. So if you need a burger recipe sure to impress, here’s how to make them.

Makes 6 burgers

Ingredients

  • 500g Extra Lean Beef Mince
  • 1 small onion, finely diced
  • 1 clove garlic, finely died
  • 1 Birdseye chilli
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • ½ cup (35g) breadcrumbs
  • Fresh chives
  • 6 Burger Baps
  • Lettuce
  • 2 Truss Tomatoes, sliced
  • Sliced cheese
  • Jalapenos
  • 6 Corn on the Cobs
  • Salt and Pepper to season
  • Butter

Method

  1. Combine the beef mince, onion, garlic, chives, oregano, Dijon mustard, egg and breadcrumbs in a bowl. Mix together and season with salt and pepper. Use your hands to form 6 patties.
  2. Chill burger patties in the fridge for at least 30 minutes.
  3. Place a pan of water on the heat and place corn on the cobs into the pan once boiling. Boil for 10 minutes.
  4. Meanwhile heat a frying pan over a medium heat with oil. Place burger patties in the pan and cook for 5 minutes on each side until cooked through.
  5. Slice open the burger bans, and fill with mustard, lettuce, tomatoes, patties, jalapenos, sliced cheese and chilli relish.
  6. Serve immediately with corn on the cob, topped with butter on the side.
